[속초여행] 문화공간 칠성조선소

목조선을 만들던 조선소가 있던 곳을 문화공간으로 재탄생시킨 곳이다. 사유지라고 되어있던데 누가 이렇게 멋지게 사라져가는 역사에 들숨을 불어넣었는지 궁금하다.

카페로 쓰이는 살롱을 비롯한 전시공간들에 세련된 이름이 붙었지만 조선소일때 사용하던 공간의 뼈대를 그대로 유지하고 있다.

배가 나가던 철로를 그대로 살려 사람들이 앉아 바다를 볼 수 있게 해주었고, 작은 목조선을 하나 전시해서 이 공간이 오랜 시간 누군가의 삶의 터전이었구나,하는 생각을 하게 해준다. 철강으로 만드는 배야 더 튼튼하고 오래가겠지만 그만큼 녹이 슬어도 썩지 못하고 땅과 바다를 오염시키는 것 아닐까. 배목수들이 사라지는 건 바다도 아쉬워할지 모르겠다.

It is the place where the shipyard that used to build the wooden ship was rebuilt as a cultural space. I wonder who made this wonderful transformation on this place. 

It has four spaces having different purposes. Those spaces including exhibition spaces and a cafe still retain the same shape of the structure used during the shipyard years but all have a new and young and trendy sign. 

It allows people to sit on the railway that was for the ship so that people can watch the sea while enjoying their beverages. In a exhibition space, you can find a small wooden boat, which was probably made in this shipyard. Many elements in this place induced me to think of the people who lived on here and of what their live were like. The steel-made boat would be stronger and longer lasting and will not rot. The sea may be sorry that the boatwright are disappearing.
